Inheritance law regulates the transfer of a deceased person's assets to heirs and disputes arising from this transfer. For the process to proceed properly, heirs, the scope of the estate and inheritance shares must be determined correctly.
Certificate of Inheritance and Heirship
A certificate of inheritance shows the heirs and their shares. However, obtaining this document alone does not resolve all disputes; immovable properties, bank accounts, company shares or debts may require separate examination.
Estate and Distribution
The estate includes all assets and liabilities of the deceased. If heirs cannot reach an agreement, actions for dissolution of co-ownership, estate determination or distribution may arise.
Reserved Share and Reduction
Certain transactions of the deceased may violate the rights of heirs with reserved shares. In such cases, a reduction claim may be filed to protect the reserved share.
